Today you may do one of three things during class time. I’ll walk around and talk with you, but please also call me over to ask questions or discuss writing ideas.
(1) Work on your blogs. Focus a post on working with one of several writing skills: compare something; define a term; employ a summary/analysis of some other text you’ve found online.
(2) Gather in groups to discuss writing ideas for the paper. In groups of 2 or 3, get together and discuss writing topics and directions for the short article assignment. Some things to talk about: What things does the paper seem interested in covering? What do you value about those things? What are some topics or sub-topics that you might be interested in contributing to? How could you practically make that topic work as an essay? What might be your unique “angle” on that topic? What things must you research for this article? Where might you find that research?
(3) Begin researching, drafting, and outlining a potential article idea.
